Resolution is really important for a great photo. Photos should meet the size requirement of 3 megapixels, or 2048 x 1536 pixels in size.
Make sure you send us your very best photos! If a photo is blurry, if the subject matter is unclear (too bright or too dark), or if the picture was taken from an extreme angle, you may want to submit some of your other great photos instead.
Please do not upload images with identifiable people to Capture Canada. The Capture Canada platform cannot track whether a person has given permission to be featured in a photo. It is important that we respect everyone’s privacy.
Photos with people are okay if the people are not identifiable – for example, a close shot of someone’s hands, a silhouette, a picture from behind, or a picture of a crowd from a distance.
Please make sure that your photos have not been edited or altered too much.

If you have several photos of the same thing, please choose your absolute favourite in the series and upload just that one.
Make sure the images you submit are entirely your own original work, and not a remix of images by others. You can read more about this in our Terms of service.
